Massage Therapy
There's nothing more soothing and relaxing than a fabulous massage.
Using a range of therapies including Swedish massage, deep tissue, sports massage, pressure point, cupping, pregnancy techniques and hot stone massage, I can tailor a bespoke massage experience to suit your individual requirements.
So what is the difference between all these different techniques?
Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is probably what you think of when you imagine the classic massage. Think long, even strokes designed to relax the entire body by reducing muscle tension. It's a gentle form of massage, and best suited for those who want a soothing experience.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is much firmer than the Swedish style of massage, and may include some discomfort as it targets the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This style of massage is best suited for chronic aches and pains.
Sports Massage
Is firmer still, and typically focuses on a specific muscle group and the connective tissues within and around it. Sports massage is best suited to those wanting to target a specific issue.
Pressure Point Massage
Pressure point massage techniques are used as part of Deep Tissue and Sports massage. Pressure Point technique involves identifying the trigger points or knots that are causing pain, and applying sustained pressure to those points in order to release that muscle.
Cupping
Cupping is a very ancient massage technique that originated in Asia. Heated cups are applied to the skin in specific areas, which quickly cool to create a vacuum. This has the effect of pulling the tissue upwards, rather than applying downwards pressure with the hands as would normally happen during a massage. This can be a very effective alternative way of releasing muscle tension.
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy massage techniques are used to massage pregnant women who cannot lie in normal massage positions. Typically, this would involve you lying on your side with you legs comfortably bent, and the front of your body covered. In addition, some pressure points are avoided during pregnancy while others, like the lower back and sciatic areas, become more of a focus.

Hot Stone Massage
Hot Stone Massage has become extremely popular. Unlike what you see on advertisements, the hot stones are far too hot to touch your bare skin! The hot stones are placed on a towel at the pressure points on your body, to provide targeted heat and and pressure to that area. This is extremely relaxing, and also very effective at releasing chronic muscle tension.
Foot Massage
Your foot massage begins with a foot soak followed by a therapeutic foot massage that will leave your feet feeling fabulous.
